Wedge, wedge chamber: steel, heat treated / lacquered / slideways lubricated
Chain link: steel / lacquered
Thrust rail: steel, case-hardened / lacquered / slideways lubricated
Guide rail: steel / lacquered
These come along clamps are used for holding and tensioning of those bare conductors as indicated. The bare conductors have to meet the respective standards.
If using for both copper/copper alloy and aluminium/aluminium alloy bare conductors, the contact faces of the clamp have to be cleaned
thoroughly before using to prevent penetrating of copper particles into aluminium.
The respective bare conductor clamping range is marked on the wedge, the maximum load is marked on the guide rail.
Safety remarks:
If the come along clamp is frequently used especially at steel bare stranded conductors, the teeth of the thrust rail will loose their gripping capacity. For safety reasons the
thrust rail has to be replaced after 50 mounting operations at most. If the teeth are badly worn out before, the thrust rail has to be replaced immediately.
The complete come along clamp has to be checked regulary for his technical state by the responsible staff.
At damaged wedge guide or widened wedge chamber the use of the come along clamp is not permitted. In case of uncertainty RIBE will be pleased to check the technical state.
Brush holder: malleable cast iron
Cleaning brush: steel wires
Handle: beechwood
The 2 exchangeable brushes allow with the angle of 10° easy cleaning. If worn out
the brushes can be rotated or exchanged.
Brushing is must effective in direction of the outer layer
It is absolutely necessary to use seperate brushes for aluminium and copper conductors.
The handles are colour marked:
- red: use with copper conductors
- green: use with AAC, AAAC, or ACSR conductors
Gauge case: Thermoplastics
Gauges: Steel
Scope of application of the RIBE® Gauge Set:
For the connection of conductors with compression joints according to DIN 48085-3, compression tools are used which are designed in such a way that the compression process is completed as soon as the two inserts of the compression tool touch each other.
So far there was no way for the installer to check the quality of the crimping. Now, with the help of the RIBE® Gauge Set, the proper compression can be determined on the assembled connector.
For this purpose, the RIBE® Gauge Set contains 10 gauges for checking the width across the hexagonal face. Each gauge is used to check both the steel and aluminum ferrule. The gauge set covers the range of conductors from 149-AL1/24-ST1A to 565-Al1/72-ST1A and thus the most common conductor dimensions.
