The armour grip suspension is used for the movable suspension of conductors and optical fibre aerial cables on suspension mast. Material: The armour grip suspension is composed of a certain number of helical rods, a concave Neoprene insert consisting of two halfs and a clamp body. The rods are placed on the Neoprene insert at the suspension point. This centre assembly is fixed by the clamp body which due to positive locking prevents axial displacement of the conductor. The armour grip suspension - like the application of suspension clamps along with armour rods - does not impede asymmetric vibration and thus avoids local alternating bending stress. This is no static compression force existing in standard suspension clamps with and without armour rods due to the keeper with bolts. This is the principle difference of the armour grip suspension compared to suspension equipments commonly used up to now. The reinforcement of the cross-section by armor rods improves the lifetime of the vibrating conductor/ optical fibre aerial cable. However, it is no damping device to cope with conductor vibrations. The electrical connection of the helical rods and the suspension equipment is resistant to short-circuit current, i.e. it is capable to conduct the short circuit current of a conductor/ optical fibre aerial cable without damage.
Mechanical tasksCarrying the fibre optic aerial cable and securing it against axial displacement
Electrical tasks
The electrical contact of the rods to the terminal housing is short-circuit-proof and can carry the short-circuit current of the conductor/optical fibre cable.
In addition, short-circuit bridges can also be fitted directly to the housing of the helical rod conductor if required
The installation of short-circuit bridges is also possible at a later date

Additional informationSuspension rods consisting of thimble, LG- and TG- rods are designed for vertical loads up to 1kN. They are used for span lengths up to 70 m approximately. The TG-suspension rods with the preformed loop is the supporting accessory. The shorter and straight LG-supporting rods are only used for stiffening the area round the suspension point. The loop of the fitting is stabilized and protected against abrasion with a ring type thimble.

Additional informationThe suspension rods, consisting of TG (1), thimble (2), and UTA rods (3), is used for the flexible suspension of non-metallic optical fiber aerial cables on support mast. It can withstand vertical loads of up to 5 kN, making it suitable as a support fixture for medium span lengths of approximately 70 to 150 meters. The loop is provided with a thimble for stable storage and protection against abrasion. Ring thimbles (2), UTA protection rods (3), and TG rods (1) are to be ordered separately. When determining the suspension rods, it should be noted that a total diameter should be provided, which is the cable diameter plus twice the wire diameter of the UTA protective rod.

Suspension pulleys are used for suspension of ADSS cables (preferably at wooden pole or concrete pole). The suspension pulleys benefit from the fact that in case of a tree falling in the span length the ADSS cable is not destroyed. This has no influence on the communication line. To avoid high compression forces at the point of contact between cable and suspension pulleys the use of protection rods is recommended.
AdvantagesThe advantage of the suspension pully is that the necessary cable length can be taken from the neighbouring mast sections in case of a tree falling into a mast section. This means that the information transmission distance remains intact.

Suspension of non-metallic optical fiber aerial cables on support mast. They are used for span lengths of up to approximately 150 meters and maximum tensile forces of up to 2.5 kN.
AdvantagesThese suspension pully can be used to pull cables. This fixes the cable to the helical.
