The strength of suspension and tension insulator strings needs to be designed to reliably support permanent and variable line loads and conductor tensions. Insulation coordination should be such that the insulator string can withstand the design electrical stresses.

The RIBE Engineering Team engineers insulator strings according to the design concept of EN 50341 to meet the required design reliability. The design process is documented for easy reference. Non-standard insulator arrangements like V-strings and suspended tension arrangements can likewise be dealt with.
One particular engineering service is the computation of dynamic loads resulting from load transposition in multiple insulator sets when one insulator string fails. The RIBE Engineering employs proprietary computation software that was validated by means of field tests. This provides a fast and cost effective means to compare various insulator sets at the design stage.
